Selective Celiac Angiography in Hepatic Hydatid Cyst and Comparison with Scintigraphy
author
Abstract:
This article was presented by the author at the Third Iranian Congress of Radiology - University of Isfahan.

full textSignificance of MIBI scintigraphy in a patient with hydatid cyst and parathyroid adenoma
A 17-year-old boy with hyperparathyroidism exhibited a large cyst in the left hemi-thorax on his chest X-ray. The cyst was identified as a hydatid cyst. He was referred for biphasic methoxy isobutyl isonitrile (MIBI) parathyroid scan. A discrete ectopic parathyroid was detected in the left upper mediastinum in addition to accumulation of the MIBI tracer in the cyst wall. Using radio-guided occu...

Introduction. Although adrenal cysts are uncommon, the incidence rate is increasing with the advances in radiological technologies. The incidental detection of adrenal cysts nowadays has become more frequent as a result of the increase usage of high quality imaging modalities. Adrenal cysts originate from the adrenal gland and can be classified into either true or pseudocyst. Presentation of Ca...

Based on a case operated in our clinic the paper discusses the various applications of robotic surgery in the surgical treatment of the hepatic hydatid cyst. We present the case of a 29year-old patient who presented to our clinic with chronic abdominal pain (8 months) localized in the right upper quadrant, without irradiation and showing no other accompanying phenomena. The patient was hospital...
full textCryptogenic hepatitis simulating cyst rupture and hydatid jaundice in a patient with preexisting asymptomatic hydatid cyst
Background: Rupture into the biliary ducts is the most frequent complication of hydatid liver disease. In endemic areas of Echinococcus granulosus, development of jaundice in a patient with liver cyst is initially suspected to have hydatid cyst. Case Presentation: A 48 year-old woman with history of asymptomatic hydatid liver cysts was admitted to the emergency department with right upper qu...
full textSplenic hydatid Cyst with Intra-abdominal Hydatid Cyst-Case Report
Introduction: Hydatid cysts are much less common in the abdomen than in the lungs, and the most common organ involved in the abdomen is the liver, although it is rarely seen in the spleen alone or in multiple organs. The patient was a 25-year-old man who presented with LUQ pain that started one month ago and with a mild non-intermittent nature and it gradually increased. On ultrasound of the pa...
